Myanmar is geographically located between 9° 58' to 28° 31' N and 92° 29' to 101° 10' E.
Bounded by land on the northwest, north and east and the remaining sides by sea, it stretches for about 1275 miles
from north to south and 582 miles from east to west, while approximating 261228 square miles, in total area.
The Tropic of Cancer, passing through the ancient city of Tagaung which situates on the bank of river Ayeyarwaddy,
divides the country into two main climatic regions, namely the "tropic south" covering over two-third and sub-tropical
or "temperate north" covering the remaining one-third of the country.
