Since 1991, factories and mills under the Ministry of Industries N0.1, dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation for better coordination between crop output and factory production, currently, the following industries are being managed by Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation as based on agricultural products. Ginning and baling, are undertaken by state-owned industries of Myanma Cotton and Sericulture Enterprise under MOAI. Cotton and by-products produced from the factories are exported annually.

In 2004-05, total number of baled cotton produced from the factories was 8603.5, while at the same time, 2046.85 pounds of silk yarn was processed.

There exists 8 state-owned sugar mills, producing sugar for domestic consumption and export. Total production of sugar from aforesaid mills in 2004-05 was 53770 metric tons.

Jute plays an important role in domestic needs, and in foreign exchange earnings. In order to fulfill requirements, various types are manufactured by respective factories under the management of the Myanma Jute Industries. The specific types of goods being produced are jute bags, jute twines, jute carpets, hessian and other carpet backing cloth.

The rubber plantation sector and inter alia production of rubber products, also improved considerably, in 1988.As a government sector contribution, a crumb rubber factory was established in Thanbyuzayat under the Rubber Rehabilitation Project implemented from 1979 to 1986, opening the way for the processing of high quality rubber. The amount of rubber produced in 2004-05 was 1296.48  ton.

Other agricultural products- crude palm oil, natural palm oil, bran oil, various types of coffee and pesticides- are also regularly produced from the state-owned factories under MOAI.
